Welcome to The Hands-On Language Program, a program that teaches languages by doing. We offer the following services:

  • French as a second language or English as a second language classes, courses, holiday camps, and workshops anwhere in the world. Invite our lead teacher Baptiste Delvallé to come teach at your school. It could be a week-long session on a school break, or a whole summer course. Email Baptiste to make an offer or to ask for a quote. Baptiste's transportation from Bordeaux, France to your school will be at your charge. Classes also happen online via Zoom, Skype or Google Hangouts!

  • Foreign language consulting, online or live.

  • Language trips to France! Privatize the trip for it to be for your school or family alone, or join an existing one.

  • Professional development workshops or conferences, by Baptiste, on his hands-on French immersion teaching methods. Email Baptiste to make an offer or to ask for a quote. Baptiste's transportation from Bordeaux, France to your school will be at your charge.

All our classes are hands-on, experiential, activity based, and in full French immersion.

At The Hands-On Language Program, we consider that languages are tools. Our founder Baptisteonce said:

"You wouldn't learn how to use a hammer by studying all the parts of the hammer and all the hand moves you might need to make. You'd learn to use the hammer, well, simply by using the hammer! You'd grab it and start putting nails everywhere, start building things with it! Learning how to speak a language is done exactly the same way."

So at The Hands-On Language Program, we teach languages by using them. Our main class is currently French through cooking (for French learners) and English through cooking (for English learners): we use the language in an immersion environment, while cooking. Even though students are really learning French/English, the focus appears to be on cooking, something real that they can do with the language. The class is highly efficient for all levels, including very beginners.

There are endless possibilities of immersion, practical classes The Hands-On Language Program can put together, from game groups to sustainability clubs, from storytelling/skits groups to arts and crafts classes. Let us know your kids' interests!
